The Boris Beer of the Week turns a year old this month, and what better way to celebrate than with one of my all time favorite beers.  Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout is the mother of all Russian Imperial Stouts. But proceed with caution; at 10% alcohol you're going to need someone to help you finish that growler.  It's about as dark as a beer can get. The pitch-black color is a good indication that there's a ton of roasted malt, chocolate malt and toasted flavors going on here.  Sure, you'll feel a little heat from the alcohol, but it's dangerously drinkable.  As this one warms up in your glass, the flavors really start to emerge.  You'll taste chocolate, coffee, cherries, caramel and a symphony of other flavors that prove what a master brewer Mr. Garret Oliver really is.  Oh, and if you have any left over (not likely), do yourself a favor and use it to cook the best pot roast you've ever had.  After searing the meat I deglaze the pan with a generous amount of Black Chocolate Stout and dump the whole delicious mixture into the pot... the alcohol tenderizes the meat at it slowly cooks to perfection. This is truly a treat and a crazy deal at half price... you're welcome.  And cheers!
