February 25, 2013

The Postal Service is extending their reunion. The duo of Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard and electronic artist Jimmy Tamborello has just scheduled another leg of headlining tour dates to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their only studio album, 2003's Give Up. That outing begins on May 28 at the Knitting Factory in Boise, Idaho and will make stops in Orlando, Atlanta, Boston, New York and Philadelphia, among other cities.  Former Rilo Kiley frontwoman Jenny Lewis, who sang on Give Up and appeared with the band on a handful of 2003 tour dates, will join The Postal Service for their upcoming tour.

In other Postal Service news, on April 9 the band will release a special edition of their debut release, Give Up Deluxe 10th Anniversary Edition. The compilation boasts two CDs that include the original album, new tracks "Turn Around" and "A Tattered Line of String," and a number of B-sides, rarities and remixes.  In addition, the set features covers of “We Will Become Silhouettes” and “Such Great Heights” performed originally by The Shins and Iron and Wine, respectively.
