There was a new reason for some passengers to secure their snack trays in their upright and locked positions on a recent VietJetAir flight last Friday: a surprise bikini fashion show. In what became an immediately viral video thanks to passengers' cellphone cameras, gorgeous Asian models sashayed down the plane's aisle, handed out toys and other goodies, and performed a Hawaiian-style dance routine during the flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang.

The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) slapped the discount airline with a $1,000 fine, not for the in-flight entertainment, but because the show was "unapproved." 

A VietJetAir official said the effort was to improve customer satisfaction.
