The Foo Fighters walked away with five Grammy Awards last night, including Best Rock Album for Wasting Light, Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance for "Walk," Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance for "White Limo" and Best Long Form Music Video for Foo Fighters: Back and Forth. Bon Iver surprised many by winning the Best New Artist award and capped the night by taking home the Best Alternative Music Album category for Bon Iver. To absolutely no one's surprise, the night belonged to UK songstress Adele, who swept all six categories she was nominated in, including Album of the Year (21) and Record and Song of the Year for "Rolling in the Deep." The night included performances by the Foo Fighters ("Walk"), Coldplay ("Princess of China" featuring Rihanna and "Paradise"), Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, who opened the ceremony with his new song "We Take Care of Our Own" and Paul McCartney who closed the night with the classic Beatles medley "Golden Slumbers"/"Carry That Weight"/"The End" with a little help from Springsteen and Dave Grohl, among others. The event also contained many mentions of and a tribute to the late Whitney Houston, who died on Saturday at the age of 48. The cause of death is still unknown.
